A
Watery Demise
Time
stands, still waiting for a glint
of
something beneath the surface
Circling
into endless nowhere,
I
keep my fins flailing in vain
Something’s
beneath the surface
trying
to ensnare me
My
fins flail in vain.
Bubbles
escape, gaping, gasping
Trying
to ensnare me.
Shock
races with every grab
Bubbles,
escape gaping and gasping
blindly
hearing fluid filling
Shocked,
racing with every grab
of
my waving blue ankles
Blindly
hearing, fluid fills
my
burdened lungs collapse
No
longer waving blue ankles
and
nothing’s beneath the surface
My
burdened lungs collapsed
Time
stands, still waiting for a glint
